Creating your organization

Your organization represents your server: its name, address, colors and services. Everything your members see (records, ranks, reference lists, the log) belongs to it and stays separate from other client servers.

If you don’t belong to any organization yet, your first sign-in takes you to the You don’t have an organization yet screen: Create an organization opens the wizard, I have an invite lets you join an existing organization (paste the link or code you received), and Back to the website returns to the SuperMDT home page. If you already belong to an organization, choose Create an organization on the Choose an organization screen.

During the beta, creating an organization requires an access code from the SuperMDT team: if you received it as a link, it is already filled in.

The wizard has five steps (Organization, Region, Appearance, Services, Summary), shown at the top with a progress bar. Press Enter or click Continue to move on: the button stays greyed out until the step is complete. Back goes back, and completed steps stay clickable. Quit takes you home without creating anything. Your draft is kept in the tab, even if you reload the page, until the organization is created.

Step 1: your server’s name

1. Organization (“What’s your server called?”). Type the Organization name (up to 60 characters): it appears at the top of the intranet and on invites. The Address (….supermdt.fr) is filled in from the name. You can edit it: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens (not at the start or end), 3 to 40 characters, some addresses being reserved. Once edited by hand, it no longer follows the name; Generate from the name recomputes it. SuperMDT checks it is free (Address available or This address is already taken.) before letting you continue.

2. Region (“Where does your server live?”). Pick your server’s Time zone, suggested from your computer’s and grouped by continent: every time shown (shifts, reports, statistics, pay weeks) depends on it. The Current time in this time zone is displayed so you can check. Also pick the Default language (Français or English), offered to members who haven’t picked one; it is also the language of the basic setup, and of the messages the Discord bot posts.

3. Appearance (“Your colors”). Pick your organization’s Accent color, from the swatches or your own color. It marks what’s live (on duty, live, selection) and applies to the wizard from this step on, with a Preview of the intranet under your name. Text on the accent adapts on its own to stay readable.

4. Services (“Which services do you run?”). Tick the services you run. Each card shows the template’s short name, name, summary and number of ranks: police (LSPD), sheriff (BCSO), highway patrol (SAHP), federal police (FIB), emergency medical services (EMS) and justice (DOJ). Police and EMS are ticked by default. On a ticked service, Customize lets you change the Service name (up to 60 characters), Short name (up to 12) and Service color, and shows its Starting ranks (you can rename, reorder and adjust them after creation). Collapse closes the panel. At least one service is required. The templates (modules, ranks) are detailed in Services.

   Each starting rank gets the default permissions of its level (recruit, member, supervisor, command), one per action; you then fine-tune them rank by rank (see Permissions). The penal code and offense file types are handed to justice if you have it, to police otherwise. The Delegated administration module is not enabled in any template.

   The Start with a basic setup switch (on by default) prefills what matches your services:

   • always: an extended citizen record;
   • with a police department: the penal code (with its offense levels and penalty degrees), the Citation, Arrest report and Arrest file offense file types (reviewed by the Prosecutor or the Judge if you have a justice department), and the Bank robbery, Jewelry store robbery, Federal bank robbery and Hostage situation operation types;
   • with a medical service, its starter pack: procedures and prices (some with a range), body zones, injury types and severities for the assessment, the Consultation, Emergency response and Hospital stay visit types (with vital signs), the surgical procedures of operative reports and the medical history sheet.

   When off, forms and reference lists start empty; the medical pack can be installed later from the Medical department step of getting started.

5. Summary (“All set?”). Review your choices: organization and address, time zone with the time and language, color, services, and whether the basic setup is included. Each block has an Edit button that takes you back to the step. Click Create the organization. If the address was taken in the meantime, the wizard takes you back to step 1.

Once the organization is created, SuperMDT shows “All set.” and takes you to its getting started guide: a guided tour through everything you can configure, step by step (ranks and permissions, callsigns, penal code, unit statuses, payroll, game, Discord, invites…), with the defaults already in place. Follow it right away, skip steps, or come back later from the home page.

You are the organization’s owner: you have every right, including settings and permanently purging archives. You are not assigned to any service: to hold a rank and a callsign like your officers, choose Assign me in your account menu or at the top of the Roster (see Members and invites).

What the wizard doesn’t set up

The wizard creates an MDT you can use right away in a browser. Two connections remain optional; getting started offers them (the Connect your game server assistant, then Invite the bot for Discord), and they can be made any time from the settings:

While game integration is off, everything that depends on it is hidden and the bridge is refused. Turning it off later deletes nothing: players, characters and settings come back as soon as you turn it on again.

The organization’s logo and currency are set later in Settings › General (see Settings and services).

Several organizations

One Discord account can belong to several organizations, for instance if you run two servers, or play on one server and manage another. Each organization has its own members, ranks and data; nothing crosses from one to the other.

• When you sign in, the Choose an organization screen lists yours, with your role (Owner, Administrator or Member) and their address. A suspended organization carries the Suspended badge.
• In the MDT, your account menu (your avatar, top right) lists My organizations: one click switches between them.
• To create one for a new server, choose Create an organization on the picker.

Tip

Nothing is set in stone: name, logo, color, time zone, services and ranks can all be changed later in the settings. To reuse another server’s configuration, use import / export.
