Live mapGame
On-duty members’ positions, sent by the game server, on the San Andreas map.
On this page04
The Live map (Operations group) shows where on-duty members are, from the positions sent by your game server. It’s for coordination: who is closest to a call, where backup is.
It needs the game integration and the supermdt-bridge
resource on the FiveM server: without them, the map stays empty.
live-mapWhat the map shows
Section titled “What the map shows”- Only on-duty members. A player who is online but off duty doesn’t show.
- Each point carries its service’s color dot. Several members at the same place merge into a single numbered point (“3 members here”); zoom in or click it to split them.
- Members of the same unit close to each other (same vehicle, or on foot a few dozen meters apart) make a single point for the unit: its callsign, the color of its status and the number of members. A click shows the unit’s status, its detail if any, and its members. If the crew splits up, each group gets its own point.
- Clicking a point opens its Details: name, callsign, unit (or No unit), status (and its detail), and Vehicle or On foot. Zoom in zooms on that point; the cross closes the panel.
- At the top, the connection state (Live, Connecting…, Relay unreachable), how fresh the positions are (“Updated 12 seconds ago”, or “No position received”), the number of members on the map and the interval (“Positions every 60 s”).
- Recenter the map goes back to the overview; Base map changes the style (Satellite, Atlas, Grid, Roads… depending on the source), only if the source offers several. On a narrow screen, it is a button that switches to the next style.
- With nobody on duty in game, the map shows “Nobody on the map”. Turned off in the settings, it shows “The live map is disabled”; if the position server isn’t linked to the installation, “The relay is not configured”.
live-map-unitPatrol sectors
Section titled “Patrol sectors”If the service has patrol sectors, the map draws them: dashed outline, background barely tinted with their color, name in the middle. The Show sectors / Hide sectors button (only there if the service has sectors) shows or hides them; your choice is remembered on this device. Seeing them needs Sectors › View sectors.
ops-livemap-sectorsDistress alerts
Section titled “Distress alerts”When an officer triggers the panic button, a pulsing red point marks the alert’s position, and the officer’s point is marked in red (“Distress:” followed by their name). If the alert left without a position, the first position the map receives for the officer is copied onto the distress call.
Tagged people
Section titled “Tagged people”A person under an electronic tag shows with a diamond marker, separate from officers, with their name, whether on duty or not. During an alert (out of their zone, in a forbidden zone), the marker turns red. A click opens the tag.
live-map-braceletOnly members with Electronic tags › View tags in the service following this tag see them. Like officers’ positions, theirs is never stored.
Last position after going off duty
Section titled “Last position after going off duty”When an officer goes off duty, their dot doesn’t vanish right away: it stays frozen at their last position, greyed out and dashed, marked Off duty, last position at 15:01, for the delay set for their service (15 minutes by default, see Dispatch). Useful when an officer is taken hostage or disarmed and cut off from duty. If they go back on duty, the dot turns normal again with their next position. This last position is only kept in the position relay, in memory: never in any history.
live-map-off-dutyYou only see members of the services where your rank has Live map › See the live map. The same map shows in the middle of dispatch.
Calls on the map
Section titled “Calls on the map”The map also shows the current service’s open calls that have a point (the service in the service switcher), if you can read its calls (Calls › See calls or Dispatch › See dispatch). Each call is a diamond in its priority’s color:
- Pending (no unit assigned): a dashed ring around the diamond;
- Handled: a solid, tinted ring, and a badge with the number of assigned units.
ops-live-map-callsClicking a call (or the red marker of a distress alert) opens its menu, which comes out of the point: priority, number, state, nature, location, how long ago, start of the description, assigned units, and the Assign me / Unassign me, Assign a unit, Set waypoint, Open details and Close (hold down) buttons, depending on your permissions. It is described in Dispatch. Escape, the cross or a tap elsewhere on the map close it.
Opening the menu of a call or a distress alert centers the map on its point and zooms in smoothly, down to street level; in dispatch, selecting a call in the queue does the same. If your system asks for reduced motion, the map goes there directly, without movement.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Settings › Live map, reserved to administrators and to ranks with Delegated administration › Set up the map (see Delegated administration):
settings-live-map- Map enabled: when disabled, the map disappears for everyone and positions are refused.
- Send interval (seconds): between 10 and 300 seconds, 60 by default. Shorter makes the map smoother but increases traffic.
- Base map: the Tile source:
- Community: the default tiles;
- Custom: your own tile server (Tile URL with
{z},{x}and{y};{style}replaced by one of the Styles; Maximum tile zoom from 0 to 8); - Neutral background: a grid with no game imagery.
The key that authenticates the game server is the bridge key, managed in Settings › Game.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”| Permission | What it allows | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Live map › See the live map | see the map and the positions of this service’s on-duty members | every rank |
| Calls › See calls | see on the map the service’s open calls that have a point (Dispatch › See dispatch is enough too) | every rank |
| Sectors › View sectors | see the service’s patrol sectors on the map | every rank |
| Electronic tags › View tags | see on the map the tagged people followed by this service | every rank |
| Delegated administration › Set up the map | set up the live map and its source keys, without being an administrator | never by default |
Positions are not kept in any history: the map shows the present moment (and, for the set delay, the last position of an officer who just went off duty), nothing more.
