Quick start

This page walks through the setup, from signing in to bringing in your team. The first five steps are enough to use the MDT in a browser; the game and Discord plug in afterwards, whenever you are ready.

1. Sign in

   Sign in with your Discord account (Continue with Discord). No password to remember. See Signing in.

2. Create your organization

   Your organization represents your server: its name, address, time zone, default language, accent color and services. A five-step wizard guides you and can prefill a basic setup (penal code, police offense file types and reports, medical pack, extended citizen record). See Creating your organization.

3. Follow the getting started guide

   Right after creation, Getting started goes through everything you can configure, one step at a time: services and modules, ranks and permissions, callsigns, penal code, justice, operation reports, medical department, documents, going on duty, unit statuses, dispatch, payroll, notifications, your game server (an assistant up to the first player on duty), the Discord bot and invites. The defaults are already in place: for each step, check, edit or skip. See Getting started.

4. Adapt your forms, penal code and reference lists

   Add your own fields to records, create your operation and file types, and complete your penal code. See Forms and custom fields, Penal code and Reference lists. Already set up another server? Import its configuration.

5. Invite your team

   Create invite links, straight into a service and at a rank if you like, then assign everyone and give them a callsign. You yourself are not assigned to any service: Assign me, in your account menu, gives you a rank and a callsign like your officers. See Members and invites.

6. Link Discord Optional

   Add the SuperMDT bot to your Discord server or servers: roles and nicknames follow the MDT, and leave, sanctions, announcements and duty changes are posted there. See Discord.

7. Connect your game server Optional

   In Settings › Game, switch on Turn on game integration, map the game’s jobs to your services, then install the supermdt-bridge FiveM resource with the bridge key. Your officers can then open the MDT from the in-game tablet, go on duty in game and sign in with their character. See Game integration and Install the bridge. Without the game, everything else works

Game integration is off when an organization is created. While it is off, the tablet, players, the live map, going on duty from the game and the character choice are hidden: records, operations and administration work normally in the browser. Turning it off later deletes no data.
