Export any MDT record as a print-ready PDF or a PNG image, in your organization’s colors, with number, date, page numbers and verification code.

Every MDT record has an Export button, always in the same place: to the right of its title. It produces a real, sober document that can be printed, sent or handed over in game.

  1. Open the record (file, citizen, medical visit, evidence…).
  2. Click Export.
  3. Pick PDF (A4, ready to print) or Image (PNG) (one image per page).
  4. The file downloads to your browser’s Downloads folder; its name shows in the notification. The document is not stored in the MDT (for a kept, numbered document, issue it from Documents).
  5. In the in-game tablet, the game browser cannot download anything: Export only offers Print in game there, which gives the document as an item (see In-game printing).
  6. Copy the image link gives one link per page, to paste into your server’s printer script (the ones that print an image from a link). It also works in the in-game tablet. The link is public to whoever has it (a random code that cannot be guessed): only share this way what you accept to hand to a player. It needs the “Print in game” permission in the department. Every link created is logged.

  • An image link expires after the duration set in the department (Documents module, Settings tab, Image links card): 1, 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, 30 days by default. Changing the duration only affects links created afterwards.
  • The Public links tab of the Documents module lists the department’s links, newest first (20 at a time, then Show more): active, expired or revoked, expiry date, issuer. Everyone sees their own links; with “Document settings” (or as an administrator), all of the department’s.
  • Revoke (hold the button) cuts the image off immediately; it is final and logged. The issuer revokes their own links; “Document settings” and administrators, any of them.
  • A link also stops working when the source record is archived or the organization is suspended. A browser that already showed the image may keep a copy for up to one hour.
  • Only pages the export has just produced can be published: a photo already stored in the MDT (evidence, record…) never becomes a public link.

On a citizen record, the same button offers two documents: the citizen record and the criminal record extract.

The document

Section titled “The document”
  • Header: your organization’s logo and accent color (Settings › General), its name and the department’s, the document type, its number and date.
  • Content: label / value fields, tables (charges, record, procedures, chain of custody, pay lines…), filled custom fields, photos when they matter, the signature when the object is signed.
  • Footer: the issue date in your organization’s time zone, the issuer, “Exported on … by …”, page numbers “1/3” and, for an issued document, its verification code.
  • Geist and Geist Mono fonts (numbers, plates, badge numbers), white background, readable in black and white, A4 print margins. No button or interface element.
  • A cancelled, resolved, removed or expunged object gets a watermark; a medical document the “Confidential — medical secrecy” mention.

The PDF keeps selectable text. The image is one page per file: a long document gives name-1.png, name-2.png… (easier to read than one very long image, and shown as is in game).

Rules

Section titled “Rules”
  • You only export what you can see: before every export, the server checks your rights on the object, with the same rules as its record (medical confidentiality included).
  • Every export is logged: the audit log says who exported what, in which format, and how many pages.
  • The layout is done in your browser: SuperMDT keeps no file (except for in-game printing).
