Signing in

SuperMDT has no password to remember: you sign in with your Discord account. It is the same account for every organization you belong to.

The sign-in screen

1. Open SuperMDT. If you are not signed in, you land on the Sign in screen (“Step into your MDT.”). If you had opened a specific page (an invite link, a record), SuperMDT takes you back there after signing in.

2. Click Continue with Discord, then authorize SuperMDT in Discord’s window. SuperMDT only accesses your Discord name and avatar.

3. You come back to SuperMDT, signed in:

   • if you don’t belong to any organization yet, the organization wizard opens;
   • if you belong to a single organization, you land straight on its home;
   • if you belong to several, the Choose an organization screen asks which one to open (see below).

4. If your organization has turned on game integration and you have several characters in its services, SuperMDT asks which one to enter with (see below).

Signing in on a phone

At the bottom of the entry screens (sign-in, organization picker, creation, invite), two discreet settings: the theme button (Switch to light theme or Switch to dark theme) and the language picker.

Why Discord

Your Discord account does three things, with nothing to set up on your side:

• it identifies you in all your organizations;
• it recognizes you on your organization’s Discord server: if it has linked a server, the bot gives you your service and rank roles, and can enforce your nickname (see Discord). Nobody is recognized until they have signed in to the MDT with Discord at least once;
• it links your game account on its own, when the Discord you use in game is the same.

Picking your organization

When you belong to several organizations, the Choose an organization screen (“You belong to several organizations. Where are we headed?”) shows them as cards, each with your role (Owner, Administrator or Member) and its address. A suspended organization carries the Suspended badge.

• Click a card to open the organization.
• Create an organization (“For a new server”) starts the creation wizard.
• At the top right: your avatar and Sign out.

Once in the MDT, you switch between organizations from your account menu, under My organizations.

Picking your character

When game integration is on, your character sets your name, service and callsign in the MDT: your reports, your shifts and your Discord nickname carry its roleplay name. A character is offered when, in game, it has the job of one of the organization’s services and your game account is linked to your MDT account.

When you sign in:

• one character: it is picked without a screen;
• several: the Which character? screen lists them, with their service and rank; click the one you are playing. Your choice lasts until you next sign in;
• none: no screen, you enter with your account name. To link your game account, go through your account menu (see below).

The character screen also shows the Link my game account card and, at the bottom, how many characters are shown. The active character is marked Current.

Your account menu (your avatar, top right) has a Character row: the active character, with its service and rank, or No character. Below it:

• Switch character (when a game account is linked) reopens the list;
• Link my game account (when no game account is linked) opens the linking card.

If you move to a service where you have several characters, SuperMDT also asks which one to take. Close (or Esc) closes the screen without changing anything. On the in-game tablet, the character is always the one you are playing (Played in game) and can’t be changed.

Linking your game account

If your Discord in game is the same as the MDT’s, linking happens on its own as soon as you join the game server. Otherwise:

1. Open Link my game account (your account menu, or the character screen).
2. Click Show a code.
3. In game, type the command shown in the chat, for example /mdtlink KXP-7HQ (Copy the command puts it on your clipboard). Your server may have picked another command name.
4. As soon as the game has made the link, the Game account linked message shows and the account appears under Linked game accounts, marked In game or Offline, with how it was linked (Through Discord, With a code, By an administrator).

The code lasts 10 minutes and works once; New code gives you another and Cancel the code withdraws it. You can create at most 10 codes per hour (beyond that: “Too many codes created in an hour”). To unlink a game account, ask an administrator. The details are in Accounts and characters.

Arriving through an invite

If someone sent you an invite link (…/join/<code>), open it: SuperMDT asks you to sign in if needed, then shows the organization inviting you (“You’re invited to join”), in its colors, and the service if the link puts you straight into one. Click Join.

• A link with a service assigns you to it right away, at the rank the manager picked.
• A link without a service brings you into the organization: its managers assign you afterwards.
• If you already belong to the organization, the screen says so and offers Open.
• A former member who comes back rejoins without their old rights.

A link that has expired, been revoked or used up shows Invitation not found: ask a manager for a new one (Back to home takes you back to your organizations). See Members and invites.

Signing out

Open your account menu (your avatar, top right; on a phone, the More sheet, then your name) and choose Sign out. On the Choose an organization screen, the Sign out button is at the top right.

Development sign-in

On a local development setup, the sign-in screen also offers a Development sign-in by name only (“Dev” badge, at least 2 characters). It never exists in production.
