Settings and services
Your organization’s general settings, its services and their modules.
On this page04
Settings are reserved for the organization’s administrators (owner and administrators). A rank with a permission of the Delegated administration module gets in too, but only sees the sections delegated to it (see below). Open them from the Department group of the pill, the Configure shortcuts on the home page, or, for administrators, Ctrl K search. Its sections:
| Section | See |
|---|---|
| General, Services | this page |
| Ranks & permissions | Ranks and permissions |
| Members, Invites | Members and invitations |
| Forms | Forms and custom fields |
| Reference lists | Reference lists |
| Import / export | Importing and exporting settings |
| Operations | duty cut-offs, unit statuses, call types, dispatch, panic button, sectors: Duty, Units and statuses, Calls, Dispatch, Panic button, Patrol sectors; with the game, Plate reader and Game alerts |
| Live map (with the game integration) | Live map |
| Game, Discord | Game integration, Discord |
| Notifications | Notifications |
| Archives | Archives |
| Audit log | Audit log |
A card on the Operations page only shows when a service has the module it sets up (for example unit statuses with the Units module); game-specific cards only show with the game integration.
Search settings
Section titled “Search settings”Settings have many pages and cards. The Search settings field, at the top of the section list (above the tabs on a phone), takes you straight there.
settings-search- Press / from any settings page to put the cursor in it (Ctrl K remains the search for the whole MDT).
- Type a word: a page name, a card title or a synonym (“time zone”, “currency”, “key”, “sector”, “panic”…). Case and accents don’t matter.
- Results read Page › Card, ten at most. ↑ ↓ to choose, Enter to open, Esc to clear or leave.
- The page opens, scrolls to the card and highlights it briefly. The address keeps the
card (for example
…/settings#stg-currency), so you can share it.
General
Section titled “General”- Identity: the Organization name (up to 60 characters) and its Logo (PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP, up to 2 MB; square works best). Choose an image, then Replace; Remove logo works by holding the button down. The logo applies as soon as it is uploaded, without going through Save. With no logo, SuperMDT shows the name’s initial.
- Appearance: the Accent color, from the suggested swatches or with the color picker. It marks what’s live: on duty, selection, progress. The Preview next to it updates instantly; the interface follows once saved.
- Region & language: the Time zone and the Default language (Français or English), used for members who haven’t picked a language. Changing the time zone shifts how every time is displayed (shifts, reports, audit log): the “Every time will shift” box warns you and shows the current time before and after. Stored data doesn’t change.
- Currency: the currency your organization’s amounts (fines, treatments, invoices) are shown in. Pick it from the Common currencies (US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Canadian dollar) or from All currencies; “An amount will look like this” shows an example. Amounts already entered keep their value: only how they are shown changes.
As soon as one of these fields changes, an “Unsaved changes” bar floats at the bottom: Save applies everything at once, Cancel goes back to the saved values.
Services
Section titled “Services”Each service (police, medical, justice…) has its own modules, ranks and color. The list order is the navigation order: reorder services by dragging their handle (or with the move up / move down buttons from the keyboard). An organization has 20 services at most.
Adding a service
Section titled “Adding a service”- Click Add a service.
- Start from a ready-made template, with its ranks: Los Santos Police Department (LSPD), Blaine County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), San Andreas Highway Patrol (SAHP), Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or Department of Justice (DOJ). Or pick Blank service: it starts with two ranks, Member and Lead. Back to templates takes you back to the list.
- Set the Identity: Name (up to 60 characters), Short name (up to 12 characters, shown in lists), Type (Police, Medical, Justice or Custom), Color and, except for police, Callsigns.
- Tick the Enabled modules, then click Create service.
A template’s name, short name and ranks are only a starting point: you can rename everything afterwards. The type decides which permissions some ranks get by default (for example Prosecutor › Act as a file’s prosecutor for justice) and the default rule for arrest warrants.
Callsigns
Section titled “Callsigns”A callsign (for example 99) identifies a member within a service: it shows in the
roster, the member list, on their profile, in duty and on the live map.
- For a police type service, callsigns are always on: the setting doesn’t show.
- For other services (medical, justice, blank service…), they are optional: turn on the Callsigns switch in the service panel. It’s off by default. When it’s off, the Callsign field disappears from assignments and callsigns no longer show in that service.
You then give callsigns member by member: see Members and invitations.
Going on duty from the MDT
Section titled “Going on duty from the MDT”When the game integration is on and the service has the Duty module, its panel shows the Going on duty from the MDT setting:
settings-service-duty| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Only while in game (default) | the MDT button only works while this service’s character is in game; it also puts you on duty in game |
| Allowed | the MDT button starts and ends duty, in game or not |
| Game only | duty starts in game; the MDT only shows it |
A rank with Duty › End someone else’s duty can always end an officer’s shift. Without the game integration, the setting doesn’t show: duty is set from the MDT. Details in Duty.
Automatic cut-offs
Section titled “Automatic cut-offs”The rules that end a forgotten shift (inactivity, reminder; off by default) are set per service in Settings › Operations, or in the Duty module’s Settings tab (Duty › Set automatic cut-offs permission). See Automatic cut-offs.
Editing, deleting, restoring
Section titled “Editing, deleting, restoring”Click a service to open its panel: identity, color, Callsigns (except police), Going on duty from the MDT (with the game), Arrest warrants (with the Warrants module: who issues them, see Warrants) and enabled modules. Save with Save, or close with Cancel.
The Arrest warrants setting offers three choices: Default rule (justice issues them; police too when there is no justice service; the label says what the rule gives for this service), This service issues them or This service does not issue them. Search warrants and BOLOs do not change.
Turning a module off removes it from the navigation; its data is kept.
To delete a service, hold down the Delete button in the Delete this service area, at the bottom of its panel (there is no confirmation dialog): the service disappears from the navigation, but its data stays. It moves to Deleted services, where Restore brings it back exactly as it was (as long as the organization has fewer than 20 services).
Modules
Section titled “Modules”Modules are sorted into four groups, which form the navigation pill. A member sees a module only if it is enabled in their service and their rank has its read permission (for instance Calls › See calls). Each module then has one permission per action: create, transfer, close, cancel a fine… The full catalogue and defaults are in Permissions.
| Group | Modules |
|---|---|
| Operations | Duty, Dispatch, Calls, Units, Live map, BOLOs |
| Records | Citizens, Vehicles, Weapons, Operation reports, Records & fines, Complaints, Warrants, Electronic tags, Medical records, Court cases, Penal code, Offense file types, Evidence |
| Staff | Roster, Directory, Ranks, Leave, Discipline, Summons, Payroll |
| Department | Announcements, Documents, Statistics, Delegated administration |
When a service is created, each template suggests the modules that fit it (for example duty and dispatch for police and medical, court cases for justice); you then add or remove any of them freely.
The medical department, for example, turns on Medical records: signed, editable visits with their history, a structured assessment, medical history under medical confidentiality, in-game care billing (the mode is set per medical department, in Settings › Game). Its Operation reports serve large responses, with the Victims section shown on the operation type of your choice. This module’s permissions (edit own or all visits, sign, edit medical history, retry a care bill, write and sign operative reports) are detailed in Medical records.
Delegated administration
Section titled “Delegated administration”The Delegated administration module (Department group) is never enabled by default, in any template. Enabled in a service, it adds to its ranks’ matrix permissions that hand over part of the Settings without making anyone an administrator: See the audit log, See archives, Restore from archives, Manage forms, Manage reference lists, Set up Discord, Set up the game (with the game integration), Set up the map, Set up notifications. It adds no page to the pill. No rank gets them by default: tick them by hand. The General, Services, Ranks & permissions, Members, Invites, Import / export and Operations pages stay reserved to administrators. Details in Delegated administration.
